Malachi 3:10, “Bring the full 10 percent (tithe, offering) into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house (God’s world). Test Me in this way, says the Lord of Hosts. See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure.”
I never know what prompts me to write blogs. The last couple of days this whole debt and financial freedom thing has been in my heart, so I’ve blogged about it. I have a feeling one or two of my blog followers are trying to get their arms around their finances.
Enjoying financial freedom is not brain surgery or rocket science. It is a state of being that is very easy to achieve but requires actions that sometimes go against the grain of the society we live in.
Staying out of debt and gaining financial freedom requires three (3) very important action steps.
1. Spend less than you make.
2. Only buy what you have the cash to support unless it is an appreciable asset (buying a home used to be an appreciable asset).
3. Give more to the Lord and his people, than you think you can…and at least give 10%.
God tells us in Malachi to test him on point #3…Lori and I tested him way back in my early years of sobriety when we didn’t have a pot to you know what in…and we’ve never looked back.
Remember there are only 2 steps in developing a new habit; start and continue.
