Integrity and Follow-Through

People with good intentions, make promises. People with good character keep them.

When I played the game of basketball, I loved to shoot, but it’s no fun shooting if the ball is not going through the goal. During my high school and college basketball playing days, I spent hours honing the art of shooting a basketball.

Of all the key components to shooting a basketball, there is none more important than the follow-through.


Of all the key components of making a promise there is none more important than the follow-through.

Lots of people take way to many good intentions with them to the grave.

Stephen Covey, in his book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People,” said that our integrity is directly proportionate to how well we keep our promises to ourselves and others.

Matthew 5:37, “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from evil.”
