Reflection
There’s a quiet truth in Michael Watson’s quote: “As soon as we start seeing life through the needs of others, we become happier and more fulfilled. Thinking only about yourself is a lonely place to be.” Self-focus promises satisfaction but delivers isolation. The more we curve inward, the smaller and lonelier our world becomes.
Scripture affirms this pattern of blessing through giving. Jesus said in Acts 20:35, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” When we lift our eyes from our own needs to notice the people around us —their struggles, their loneliness, their need for encouragement—something shifts. Our own burdens feel lighter, and our lives take on deeper meaning.
Today, look for one person you can serve, even in a small way. Let go of self-focus, and step into the fullness that comes from loving others well.
Acts 20:35: It is more blessed to give than to receive.
