Let Go and Don’t Sink

Ships don't sink because of the water around them; ships sink because of the water that gets in them. Don't let what's happening around you get inside you and weigh you down.

Reflection

The opening quote reminded me of how many times, over the last year, that I had to pray and talk back at things I was worried about and had no control over.

Fact

The devil loves to get us twisted and all bent out of shape about things that we cannot control.

Solution

Let go and let God and pray the Serenity Prayer as often as you need.

God grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change.

The courage to change the things I can.

And the wisdom to know the difference.

2 Timothy 3:1-5, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”
