Reflection:
My day job includes facilitating strategic planning sessions for organizations. In strategic planning, organizations look ahead to navigate the future wisely.
One of the most helpful insights for planning comes from Michael Porter: the essence of strategy is deciding what not to do.
Life works the same way. This season of the year often brings new ideas, new hopes, and new dreams…none of which can take root if our plates are already full.
Clarity doesn’t begin with adding more; it begins with removing what no longer fits.
God often makes room for His best by asking us to release what’s merely good.
Before you chase something new, ask what needs to go.
Space creates focus.
Focus leads to strategic movement.
Strategic movement leads to a life of impact.
Soul Search:
What is crowding my life that needs to be removed?
What new thing might God be inviting me to make room for?
