Peace For Lent

The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.

— Hans Hofmann —

Lent

The season of Lent begins tomorrow. Lent is a Christian observance where we deny the desires of our flesh and nourish our spirit daily to draw closer to the Lord in anticipation of His resurrection on Easter.

Facts

The devil loves turmoil. After all, its sole purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy. (John 10:10)

Jesus loves peace. Jesus IS peace. (John 16:33)

I don’t know about you, but the world seems to be in more turmoil than ever.

We can all use a daily dose of peace to help us through.

Peace conquers turmoil and controversy every day of the week, and for the next six and a half weeks, I will be floating thoughts about peace your way daily.

My format will be pretty simple as I will share a quote, a quick personal thought on the quote, a scripture verse, and three questions for you to answer, while closing it with a prayer I’ve been praying every morning for over thirty years.

If you know anyone who could use some peace, please forward my morning thoughts to them.

Back to the opening quote–I hope our journey through Lent helps you identify and eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary will speak to you and lead you to a life of peace.

John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
