This past Sunday was a challenging day for me. I’ve always been gifted with a very sharp and focused mind…once I quit taking mood-altering substances years ago 🙂 … but on that day my brain was nowhere close to being focused and on cue.
Finally, after feeling useless most of the day, I decided to take the dogs for a walk. We left about fifteen minutes before sunset.
Then nature hit me…
A gentle breeze
Geese honking at my dogs
Squirrles running up trees
A rabbit heading to her home
Flowers beginning to lift their heads up out of the earth
A beautiful, beautiful, beautiful sunset
An eagle flying in the tops of our trees
Peace is found in God’s creation and it’s all around us…
My Sunday ended up closing out in peace and calm thanks to me getting off my backside, opening my eyes and ears, and spending time taking in God’s masterpiece.
What part of God’s creation gives you peace?
How often do you go there?
Psalm 145:5, “On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.”
 Journal your thoughts:
What am I grateful for today?
In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?
What will I deny myself so I may draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?
Prayer:
God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
