Lent Day 14 – Peace and Nature

I go to nature to be soothed and healed and to have my senses put in order.

— John Burroughs —

We are blessed to live in a peaceful setting in the country with trails that connect us to God’s gift of peace–nature.

Whenever I need to chill, I go for a walk through nature.

What part of God’s creation gives you peace?

How often do you go there?

Psalm 145:5, “On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.”

 Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself to draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
