Easter – Peace and Winning in Overtime

When my days run out, I will have lived just a blink of time, and the rest will be eternal joy.

Reflection

Being somewhat of a college basketball fanatic, this year’s version of March Madness has provided junkies like me with plenty of exciting moments.

My favorites are the games that are tied at the end of regulation and move into an overtime period.

In overtime, the kids are usually running on empty but still giving everything they have while the coaches are frantically trying to help will their team to victory.

At some point during every overtime game, I find myself saying, “It’s too bad somebody has to lose.”

Resurrection “Madness”

Two thousand years ago, God saw fit to have his Son lose and then rise from defeat to wash all of us Jesus followers of our sins and promise us an “overtime” period that never ends and has a team of previous losers turned into eternal winners.

For Jesus followers, there is great peace in knowing we have an overtime period that results in eternal victory.

Thanks for the victory, Jesus!

HAPPY EASTER!

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Journal your thoughts:

What am I grateful for today?

In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?

What will I deny myself to draw closer to God and gain more peace in my life today?

Prayer:

God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen.
