The following is a thought from two years ago…
Yesterday morning I journaled the following:
Probably the wildest week of my life…Dad must have known this was coming.
The Coronavirus has the world on the edge of its seat. The NCAA basketball tournament was canceled, all professional sports have been delayed, the stock market is down 30%, and there’s been a rush on toilet paper…WTH?Â
Times like this tend to make one realize just how out of whack our priorities are, how great we have it in the United States, and how little control we have.
There is one thing we do have control over: what we put our faith in and where we find our peace and joy.
The world may be tumbling around us, but all impossible situations (including having peace and joy without March Madness and toilet paper) can be turned into great opportunities with God.
Mark 10:27, “Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.”
Journal your thoughts:
What am I grateful for today?
In what way(s) will I bring light to the world today?
What “impossible situations” in my life is God about to turn into great opportunities?
Prayer:
God, I offer myself to Thee—To build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life. May I do Thy will always! Amen. (Third Step Prayer – Chapter 5, pg.63, The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous)
PEACE.
