Reflection:
I often write these messages to myself. The opening quote came to me a couple of days ago while contemplating the benefits of walking in obedience to God’s word.
My mind is always at peace when I live in His will.
My mind is chaotic when I’m living Jay’s will.
Obedience is love in action. It’s not just about following rules—it’s about following a Person.
When Jesus says, “If you love me…” He’s not demanding loyalty; He’s inviting relationship.
True faith isn’t passive—it’s active, courageous, and often countercultural.
Obedience might mean turning the other cheek, forgiving the unforgivable, or trusting God when nothing makes sense. It’s easier to say we believe than to live like we believe. But when we align our lives with His Word, we don’t just talk about love—we prove it.
And here’s the twist: Obedience isn’t a burden—it’s a blessing. It leads us to freedom, clarity, and a sense of purpose. Every “yes” to God is a step into the life He dreamed for you…I always write from experience.
Where is God asking you to obey Him today, even if it feels uncomfortable or costly?
John 14:15, “If you love me, keep my commands.”
Prayerful Thought for the Day:
Lord, help me love You not just in word but in action. Give me a heart that delights in Your ways. Even when it’s hard, help me trust that Your commands lead to life. I want to walk with You in obedience, one step at a time. Amen.
