“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.” —1 Corinthians 16:13 (NIV)
Reflection
Sometimes, life hits hard.
Confusion, loss, failure, and pain will come, and the easy way out can start to look appealing. But we weren’t saved to live soft or give up easily.
The longer I live, the more I see it: the people who do anything worthwhile have one thing in common—a resilient mindset rooted in God’s will.
Jesus never promised comfort, but He did promise His presence. And that changes everything.
Paul’s charge in 1 Corinthians 16:13 is a call to spiritual toughness: Be alert, stand firm, be courageous, and be strong. Not because it’s easy but because God gives you the strength to do it, even when life feels like war.
Thought for the day:
You may not have all the answers, but you have what you need: the Spirit of God within you and a Savior who has already overcome. So today, square your shoulders, say your prayers, and take the next step in faith.
