Lent Mindset Day 14 – Peace Is A Verb

Peace isn’t found; it’s forged. It takes trust to receive it, surrender to keep it, and faith to live it.

Reflection

Peace doesn’t just happen—it requires effort.

We often pray for peace but forget that our hearts must be prepared to receive it. God offers His peace freely, but we must create space for it by trusting Him, letting go of fear, and aligning our thoughts with His truth.

Over the years, I’ve identified environments and settings that open my heart and rightsize my mind to His peace:

I open my heart to His peace every morning by spending time with Him and His word.

I usually follow that with a good workout or a walk—whenever I’m exercising, the opposing forces in my head quiet down, accommodating the infusion of peace into my spirit.

Another key factor in keeping my heart open to His peace is my attitude in handling the daily challenges of being alive. Peace is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God in the midst of it.

True peace comes when we surrender control, release bitterness, and cultivate faith.

It’s a choice, a discipline, a daily pursuit. Open your heart, make room for His peace, and let it transform you from within.

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Thought for the day: Having a peaceful heart and mindset is a choice. It is a daily discipline. Peace is a verb.
