Know Focus – No Stress

Stress is a choice. So is inner peace.

— Lewis Howes —

I am certain that there is no bigger deliverer of stress than uncertainty.

There were times this past year when I would walk into a store, and my soul was at peace, but my body was covered by a heavy mist of stress from the world’s uncertainty concerning the crafty little virus we were fighting.

Finally

A couple of days ago, our Governor announced that almost all health restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic were being lifted on June 2nd.

Does this mean the heavy mist of stress will go away in our great state?

Fact

It will, for those who want it to go away, and it will remain for those who live in it without really knowing.

Sadly, some people would not know what to do without stress.

This is the greatest explanation for stress that I’ve ever come upon. I believe it is called the medical model for stress.

When we lack clarity and focus, ambiguity and the feeling of losing control set in, this potent combination causes us to be frustrated. If we remain frustrated long enough, stress sets in, and with stress comes an entire series of negative events.

Back to the opening quote…

Stress is a choice based on whether or not you have clarity and focus in your life.

Focus Question

Do you get up each day knowing what needs to be done to help you achieve your vision for that day and inch you closer to achieving your long-term vision?

There is no better way to combat stress than knowing where you are going and what it will take to get you there.

Oh, and by the way–the start of a perfect day begins the night before.

Oh, and by the way-way–a great stress reducer is letting go of people, places, things, and situations that are out of your control.

Oh, and by the way-way-way–THE GREATEST stress reducer is prayer with the intent to seek His help in giving you focus while turning all of your “uncontrollables” over to Him.

Psalm 118:5-6, “Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
