Just Start

Life is too brief to wait for the perfect set of circumstances to chase a dream. Just start--and the journey will help you sort things out.

As I approach another birthday–the first one in my seventh decade of life–I find myself paying closer attention to the brevity of life more than ever before.

Thus the reason for the opening quote.

I’ve been blessed with chasing and accomplishing a few dreams in my lifetime and I never waited for a perfect time to start.

A few times the dream I thought I was chasing turned into an even bigger dream that God wanted me to chase.

I don’t subscribe to the “fire, ready, aim,” mentality as I’ve observed many people waste time and money using that mindset. But I’m vehemently opposed to the “ready, aim, aim, aim, aim, should I fire? is it the right time to fire? mentality.”

We are all going to die.

Whatever you are dreaming about doing–get ready, aim, and most importantly–fire. You and God will sort things out along the way…I write from experience.

1 Peter 1:13, “Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

P.E.A.C.E. for Dreamers…

P – (Plan) A dream remains a dream until it is written down. Putting your dream in writing is the first step in creating a PLAN to achieve it.

E – (Effort) Turning your dream into reality requires a commitment to putting forth consistent and focused EFFORT toward the execution of your plan.

A – (Attitude) If you think you can achieve your dream, you will. Your ATTITUDE always determines your altitude in life.

C – (Community) Nothing great in life happens by doing it alone. The chances of realizing your dream expand as your COMMUNITY of positive mentors and peers expand.

E – (Energy) Chasing and attaining your dream requires optimal levels of mental, physical, and spiritual ENERGY. Take care of yourself!
