No Rules Needed

Integrity has no need of rules.

— Albert Camus —

Reflection

I’m sure you’ve heard various definitions of integrity. One of my favorites is attributed to Will Rogers; “Lead your life so you wouldn’t be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip.”

An integrity quote I often utilize when I’m teaching leadership classes comes from Henry Cloud’s book “Integrity” “The ability to handle the demands of reality.”  I would adjust this quote to say, “The ability to handle the demands of reality without bending or compromising on your principles.”

Note to Self

For me to live a life of integrity, I need to make sure there is less of me and more of God.

How about you?

Proverbs 10:9, “The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.”  (NIV)
