Potent Goals and Definiteness of Purpose

People are not lazy. They have impotent goals - those that do not inspire them.

Reflection

Napoleon Hill once said, “There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants and a burning desire to possess it.”

The other day, I was joking with someone about having lived 75% of my life. I’m almost 66 and always desired to live to be at least 90.

I’m on the homestretch of my life…quite sobering.

I try my best to live, so I have no regrets. I know my purpose (see Hill’s quote), and I have inspiring goals (see Robbins’ quote)–because I know minutes have a way of turning into hours, hours into days, days into weeks, weeks into months, months into years, years into decades and decades into a lifetime.

I hope you are off to a good start in chasing your 2025 BHAG.

Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (ESV)
