Reflection
I see a fair share of people these days who are impatiently chasing the next shiny object.
This quest for shiny objects is a neglect of truly understanding and knowing ourselves on the inside and a disconnect with what God has planned for us on the outside.
I was one of these “shiny object chasing people” many years ago, and when I finally “came to” at the age of 28, I spent the next 20 years “getting the inside right” so I could be of value to the outside world which is what I feel like I am doing today.
In essence, I spent a third of my life finding out what doesn’t work by always seeking “the outside, shiny stuff,” a third of my life finding out what does work by working on “my inside crappy stuff,” and I plan on spending the rest of my life helping others work through their crap so their lives may shine.
BTW…shiny objects get old fast which causes us to chase more shiny objects…wealth and things never last…a life well-lived is a life lived eternal.
Is your life a life about you and what you’ve done or are doing or is it a life about Him and what He has done and is still doing through you?
It really comes down to whose will you are following.
Proverbs 6:3, “Seek His will in all you do and He will direct your path.” (NLT)
