In Other Words

Sometimes a word, a phrase, or a scripture verse is all it takes to fend off the enemy and keep us on track.

— JMeyer —

Festina Lente is my focus phrase for this year.

TOVO (Thoughts Of Value Only) is my focus acronym.

Phoenix is my focus word.

Psalm 71:18 is my focus scripture.

Festina Lente is Latin for “make haste slowly.”

In other words, “Get R Done,” but “Get R Done,” right.

TOVO…”Thoughts Of Value Only,” as I indicated in a post a few days ago, is grounded in Philippians 4:8, “Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

In other words, eliminate all external garbage that leads to “stinkin’ thinkin’.”

Phoenix…every five years or so, I recreate the focus of my professional endeavors. I burn the old and rise from the ashes with a new and refreshed view of the future.

In other words, life is short, why live it in a rut called “same ole, same ole.?”

Psalm 71:18…”Now that I am old and gray do not abandon me O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.”

In other words, it ain’t over til it’s over…and by the way…I’m not gray…yet. 🙂

I learned many years ago that my thoughts could go south pretty quickly because of a committee (the enemy) that tries to hold board meetings in my head.

I combat this committee through phrases, words, acronyms, and scripture.

If you see me walking and talking to myself, don’t worry, I’m OK because I’m most likely talking at the committee.

What words, phrases, acronyms, and scripture will you use to fend off the enemy in 2022?

It works.

I always write from experience, even when it’s a bit corny. 🙂

Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

PEACE.
