Stop Worrying and Start Improving the World

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

— Anne Frank —

Twice this past week people who I am close with shared their anxieties with me about their concerns that a 3rd World War was imminent.

In both instances, I told them there was nothing to worry about and that the media was doing what the media is paid to do–create anxiety so we will watch our favorite news program day and night and in turn finally give LiMu Emu and Doug, from Liberty Mutual a try. 🙂

Call me wise or call me foolish, but we’ve been at war with evil since God made man. There is evil all around us trying its best to distract us from making the most of our limited minutes on earth.

I have no control over when our next war will be but I certainly can pray for world peace while I focus on trying to improve the world through my daily thoughts, words, and deeds.

The following words are from a devotional I’ve been reading since the passing of my dad. These words pretty much sum up where I am with life and thus my reason to not fret about things I have no control over…

I think these difficult times have helped me to understand better than before how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way and that so many things that one goes around worrying about are of no importance whatsoever. ~Isak Dinesen “Healing After Loss, Daily Meditations for Working Through Grief”

Proverbs 8:13, “All who fear the Lord will hate evil. That is why I hate pride, arrogance, corruption, and perverted speech.”

Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
