It is time for a little “random thought” blog.
The other day I was doing something I try very hard to not do, I was watching the news. Our country’s politicians are having yet another debate/negotiation/acting like babies over raising the debt ceiling for our country. It has more than doubled in the past decade.
As I watched and listened I couldn’t help but think what has happened to our country is what happens to us addicts. We develop a bad habit and we keep finding people to enable the habit until eventually it turns into an addiction and we have absolutely no control over it.
Most addicts do not get well until the enabling stops.
I honestly see the only way our country can get out of this spending addiction is to stop enabling them which means we need to start electing leaders instead of politicians. Our government could care less about the fact that they are playing games with our money and our children and grandchildren’s future.
Sorry I went political on you but this blog applies to anything you are dealing with that has gone from the bounds of moderation to excess. Digging a deeper hole simply creates a deeper hole. Laying flat at the bottom of the hole with nowhere to look but up usually creates a desire to construct a ladder out of the hole… been there done that.
