Happiness is right under your feet…and in your heart*

“The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet.”  ~James Openheim

The other night the life group I am a part of discussed happiness and how difficult it is to attain and if and when it is attained, how fleeting it often is.

We also discussed the difference between peace and/or joy and happiness.  We all have the ability to have peace and joy even if we aren’t happy with our life circumstances.  What is interesting is I very seldom write about happiness and I wrote about it twice last week and here I am writing about it again…somebody following my blog needs help with his or her happiness.  🙂

Most people seek happiness through the “happenings” of their lives.

How about you?  Reread the quote by Openheim above.  Do you seek your happiness from a distance?  If you find yourself being “bi-polar” with your happiness you may want to quit relying on your “happenings” and start relying on your own spiritual condition which is not only right under your own feet but living inside your heart and soul.
