
There’s been some debate whether or not the above is a Buddha quote but regardless of whether it is or not I really like it and agree with it.
I’ve always been under the impression chasing happiness is a waste of time because happiness is dependent upon what happens to us. But the longer I live, the more I realize happiness is not dependent upon what happens to us as much as it is dependent upon how we respond to what happens to us. And to take this a couple of steps further according to Buddha:
1. Happiness in my life has a chance when we I’m not the center of the universe.
2. Happiness in my life has an even better chance when my wants and desires aren’t at the center of my being.
Hmm…with all of that being said, happiness is a choice.
