Silence and War

Silence is an act of war against the competing voices within us.

Reflection

Yesterday, I touched on the importance of the stories we tell ourselves because we become those stories.

It’s essential to be aware that various voices through multiple forms of media are trying to infiltrate our stories in today’s world.

I know Christian people who put more faith in a podcaster or social media influencer than they do in the word of God.

Nouwen’s quote is so accurate.

How often do you silence yourself to seek direction for your story from the Holy Spirit?

Every time you listen attentively to the voice that calls you the Beloved, you will discover a desire to hear that voice longer and more deeply.  ~Henry Nouwen

If you want to change your story, I suggest replacing all the external storytellers with the Eternal storyteller.

1 John 4:4, “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
