Gravity

There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt.

— Erma Bombeck —

Bombeck’s quote is so true.

With all of the crap going on in the world, it is very clear that there is a fine line between good and evil.  In fact it would be real easy to question what type of God would allow all of this to happen.

A friend of mine sent me an email a few years ago and I feel he did a wonderful job of describing what faith is and what it can do for you when times get crazy:

I know that for me I am growing to the place that not much phases me anymore.  That as life throws me the curves, or I hear of news of gravity (still working on injustice especially to children)…, I no longer judge the appearance of good, bad, or indifferent – but know that “it” doesn’t exist without God’s knowledge and trust that somehow good will come and that I or another will be drawn closer to God and His purpose.

I don’t know where you are in your faith journey but when you reach the point of understanding “it” doesn’t exist without God’s knowledge and you are able to trust that somehow good will come and someone will be drawn closer to God and His purpose when “it” happens, life becomes a little easier to understand and live.

Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
