Twenty years ago I hired a business coach. I had hit my level of incompetence when it came to leading people and knew that my only hope was to engage with someone who could help me push through it.
One of the first exercises I did with my coach was to list five men I most admired as well as the traits they lived which led to my admiration of them.
At the top of my list was a tie between my dad and my father in law. The other three were basketball coaches.
The traits I admired most in my dad and my father in law were their love of family, their work ethic, and their heart of service to others.
Most of you know that my dad passed away in June. Sadly, the co-leader of my “most admired men list,” passed away on Friday morning.
My gratitude for these two men far outweighs my desire to mourn their passing.
The world is a better place because of the lives they lived…and so am I.
Psalm 145:4, “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”Â
