Let perseverance be your engine and hope your fuel.

This just in…

I received a text from Bob yesterday.

It’s been almost two and a half years since he was diagnosed with Leukemia.

It’s been a little over two years since he received a bone marrow transplant.

The past couple of years have been full of plenty of ups and downs–mainly downs, but it looks like Bob has turned a significant corner.

Here is his latest text to me:

I had my official two-year check-up at The James Monday with my Hematology Doctor. I’ve reached the next milestone on this journey, and now I’m in the 92% range of non-reoccurrence of Leukemia. The labs were terrific, and the Doctor was ecstatic. As a result, I got the OK to vacation in the Caribbean later this spring/early summer. My next appointment with my Doctor is in six months. I only have to do labs once, in-between visits, in two months to check things since she has stopped my daily maintenance chemo pill that I’ve taken since March 2021.

CAN I GET A “PRAISE THE LORD-AMEN?”

BTW…When Bob’s life was derailed, he was in the middle of training for a marathon.

Bob’s life is back on track and guess what? Yep, he’s training for a half marathon and has invited me to join him. So, schedule permitting, I will be running next to him, feeling the vibes of a once-broken spirit made whole through perseverance, hope, and plenty of prayer.

Keep the prayers rolling!

Romans 5:3-5, “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
