Today we swear in the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump.
The events leading up to this inauguration makes one wonder if this is the new normal. Â It probably is.
Last weekend we were in D.C. visiting our kids and the preparation for today was in full swing. Â As we walked on the National Mall I couldn’t help but get a little emotional as I thought about how much work and sacrifice has gone into making our country the greatest in the world.
Whenever I walk on the Mall I always feel the Spirit of the Lord.
At one end of the Mall is the Capitol Building. Â At the other end of the Mall is the Lincoln Memorial. Â Right smack dab in the middle is the Washington Monument. Â All three structures combine to create a symbolic shell to protect an idea that was birthed over 240 years ago–we are all created equal and endowed with certain inherent and inalienable rights, among them being life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
These are inherent and inalienable rights the Good Lord implanted in each and every one of us.
In essence the U.S. tries harder than any other country in the world to protect God’s idea which is simply His Truths.
Regardless of any ‘new normal,’ God’s Truths continue to endure in this great place we call America. For that I am grateful.
