You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck
What is so sad is there are millions of people living in our great nation of freedom who will not be able to enjoy the celebration of our independence because they are in bondage and a slave to an addiction, a relationship, a job or the past. If you know someone like this, he or she may benefit from reading my devotional “In Search of P.E.A.C.E.”
I know first-hand what it is like to live in a free nation and still be in bondage and controlled by an addiction…it is a horrible place to be.
I thank God for my personal Independence Day which took place back on the 9th of August, 1987.
For those of you who are FREE and know what FREE is…Happy Independence Day and pray for those who are still in bondage to something.
