Walk, Eat, Focus

When walking, walk. When eating, eat.

— Zen Proverb —

Have you noticed how distracted our world has become?

Drive down a street where lots of people are walking and you will see the majority of the people staring at their smartphone.

Sit in a restaurant where lots of people are eating and you will see the majority of the people staring at their smartphone.

Is a smartphone really a smartphone?

Do you spend more time looking at your phone than taking in the beauty of the moment?

I doubt no one has ever been laying on their deathbed wishing they had spent more time looking at their phone.

Romans 12:2, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

1 Corinthians 9:24, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.”

Heavenly Father, I live in a distracted world created by something we call a ‘smartphone.’ Please give me the ability to not allow something man has made to interfere with taking in the beauty of all you’ve created. It’s in Your Son’s name I pray. Amen.
