Reflection
When I saw the opening quote, my mind began reflecting on all of the unknowns we’ve had to navigate through over the last couple of years:
- Where did this deadly virus originate?
- Did we wait too long to take action?
- Will it ever go away?
- Are the vaccines safe and effective?
- Will the vaccines become an annual shot?
- Do masks work?
- How socially distant do we need to be to remain safe?
- Why are some people more susceptible to the harsh consequences of the virus than others?
I know people who’ve spent an excessive amount of time over the past several months trying to find the answers to the above questions or, worse yet, trying to convince others of their “researched” answers to the above questions.
Maybe it’s OK to be comfortable with not knowing.
Maybe we should show a little faith in God by turning our unanswered questions over to His care.
Questions
Can you imagine how much better our world would be if the majority of us Christ-followers spent the last two years knowing more about Him, His teachings, and His ways than we did about the ins and outs of this crazy virus?
Can you imagine how much better our world would be if the majority of us who classify as Christ-followers found one person a day to bless instead of trying to prove someone right or wrong about this stupid bug?
Fact
There are times when it is OK to not know, especially if you know Him, the One who knows it all.
John 8:32, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Isaiah 43:18-19, NIV- Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.
