We continue to reflect on excerpts from my book FEAR-PROOF as we study the Mental component of our Wheel of Life. As our thoughts go, so goes our life…
“It takes a lot more energy to complain and consume than it does to contribute.†~Jay Meyer
I’ve often said there are three types of people in the world: complainers, consumers and contributors. The complainer asks–why, the consumer asks–what’s in it for me and the contributor doesn’t ask questions, he or she simply–gets it done.
The devil loves to work with complainers and consumers as he knows progress is never made by complaining and consuming. Complaining and consuming are fear-based actions generated out of a self-centered focus.
Where do you spend most of your time today, complaining, consuming or contributing? Try contributing your time, talents and treasures on a daily basis and you will be blown away at how much energy you will have and also how simpler and enjoyable life becomes.
If you struggle with complaining and consuming you may want to spend less time watching the news and/or browsing topics on Facebook.
I write from experience.
Acts 20:35 (NIV), “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:Â ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”
Additional Scripture to read and reflect upon:Â Philippians 2:14, Ephesians 4:29, 1 Thessalonians 5:18
What beliefs, thoughts and actions cause you to complain and consume?
