Falling Forward – Day 30 – Your Best Season May Still Be Ahead

It's never to late to be what you might have been.

— George Eliot —

Reflection

The other day, I had lunch with a friend who recently turned eighty. He was struggling with aging, particularly declining health and feelings of irrelevance.

I tried to help him see the opportunities his eighty years of wisdom and experience could create, but he wasn’t buying it.

One of the most dangerous lies we can believe is:

My best days are behind me.

Age doesn’t determine usefulness. Neither do failures, disappointments, or previous chapters.

If God still has you here, there’s life to live, love to give, wisdom to share, and people to encourage.

Your next season may look different. That’s okay.

Trees don’t produce the same leaves twice.

Don’t spend today mourning yesterday’s harvest. Keep planting.

Soul Search

What would I pursue differently if I truly believed God wasn’t finished with me yet?

“They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.” — Psalm 92:14
