Reflection
Sometimes the biggest obstacle to what’s next is our attachment to what’s familiar.
The leaves attached to the branches of the trees in our woods have no say in when they fall. Fall simply happens, and the transformation process begins.
Autumn tells us change can be beautiful; our humanness tends to hinder God’s ability to transform us.
Familiar feels safe.
Even when it isn’t particularly good.
We know the routines. We know the people. We know what to expect.
But occasionally God whispers something uncomfortable:
“You’ve been here long enough; it’s time to let go and trust Me.”
Maybe it’s a habit.
A mindset.
A resentment.
A comfortable place that has slowly become a hiding place.
A professional career that no longer aligns with who you are.
Fact
Faith doesn’t always mean knowing where we’re going.
Sometimes faith simply means being willing to leave where we’ve been… no pun intended. 🙂
Soul Search
Where have I become comfortable when God may be calling me forward?
“The LORD our God said to us at Horeb, ‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain.'”
