Reflection
Angelou’s quote reminded me of one of my pet peeves: people who become prisoners of their own identity…or worse, an identity someone else gave them years ago.
I cringe when someone excuses less-than-stellar behavior with, “That’s just who I am.”
Maybe. But who you are today doesn’t have to be who you become tomorrow.
I’m not the same man I was decades ago.
Thank God!
Growth requires shedding old thinking, behaviors, labels, and versions of ourselves that no longer serve God’s purpose for our lives.
My personal Mission Statement: Inspire others to Dream More, Be More, and Live in the Light More isn’t just for you all; it’s a daily reminder for me to be a better person today than I was yesterday.
God isn’t finished with you.
Let Him work.

What old label or version of myself might God be asking me to release?
