Faith Over Fear Day 39 – EGO and Letting God Be God

With the disappearance of God, the Ego moves forward to become the sole divinity.

Reflection

Another fear-induced state the enemy enjoys walking us into is thinking we need to have all the answers and be the rulers of our lives, in fear that doing otherwise may make us look weak in the world’s eyes.

When God isn’t running my life, my ego is—Edging God Out. And the moment I edge God out, the enemy finds an opening to edge in.

Ego tells me I’m in control, that I have the answers, that I can handle it on my own. But experience has taught me otherwise.

A defining shift happened when I finally accepted this truth: God sees what I can’t. He knows what I don’t. From that moment on, I made a daily decision to place Him at the center of my choices, my plans, and my responses.

Here’s what I’ve learned…

When I lead, I carry pressure; when God leads, I experience peace.

Ego creates noise, urgency, and self-reliance.

God brings clarity, patience, peace, and purpose.

Life simply works better when I step aside and let God be God.

Whom is at your center?

Is your life noisy and filled with pressure to carry your life on your own?

or

Is your life at peace, knowing and living as though He is the way, the truth, and the life, and you aren’t?

Proverbs 28:26 (NIV), “Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom (with Jesus) are kept safe.”
