Faith Over Fear – Day 24 –

You have to decide what your highest priorities are and have the courage to say no to other things.

— Stephen Covey —

Reflection

I’ve watched many people overextend themselves because they struggle to say no. I was once one of them.

Fear often drives our yeses—fear of disappointing others, appearing weak, or losing approval. But a life filled with fear-driven yeses eventually leads to exhaustion and quiet resentment…been there and yesed that.

When approval matters more than alignment with who we are, what we stand for, and what’s really important to us, we lose sight of what truly matters…see the opening quote from one of my all time favorites.

Lent calls us to discernment; to choose faithfulness over busyness.

God has never asked us to do everything; He asks us to do what He calls us to do.

Sometimes the most faithful response is a clear and honest no.

Where in your life are you saying yes out of fear when God may be inviting you to say no?

Matthew 5:37, “Let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’”
