Faith Over Fear – Day 17 – Fear of Past Transgressions

Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.

— Oscar Wilde —

Reflection

Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future…if Christ wasn’t working through Oscar Wilde when he put that quote on paper, then I don’t know Christ.

Random Thoughts

The enemy often tries to get us to replay “old tapes” in our heads.

Old tapes of yesterday when we weren’t walking with the Lord.

Tapes that attempt to tell us we aren’t worthy because of past behavior.

Tapes that have one goal—to separate us from His power, grace, and love.

Fear replays forgiven sin as if it still holds power.

Lent is a season of letting go, not rehearsing what Christ has already redeemed.

Scripture assures us that forgiveness is complete, not partial.

God does not revisit what He has erased.

Yes!

He’s erased those old tapes!

When we cling to guilt, we deny the sufficiency of grace.

Freedom comes when we trust God’s memory more than our own.

Can I get an Amen?!

Soul Search

Have I let the “tapes” God has erased in my life remain erased?

If not, what can I do to stop playing them?

Romans 8:1, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
