Reflection:
Not long ago, a friend of mine lost his battle with alcoholism, which took him to rock bottom.
For years, he knew change was necessary, yet he was determined to do it on his own.
Some mountains are too steep to climb alone.
Let me repeat that.
Some mountains are too steep to climb alone.
Facts
God often uses others—counselors, mentors, recovery groups—to be His hands and feet in our lives.
True strength isn’t in going it alone but in humbly asking for help when the weight is too heavy.
Soul Search:
What change have you been trying to make on your own? Have you been avoiding asking for help because of pride, fear, or shame? What would it look like to invite God—and others—into your struggle today?
Scripture:
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (NIV)
