The Lie
“God doesn’t answer my prayers; therefore, prayer is a waste of time.”
Reflection
I’m a very prayerful person; I wish that meant I wasn’t also a major sinner… maybe that’s why I’m so prayerful… only God knows. 🙂
I pray throughout the day.
Does God always answer my prayers the way I want Him to? No, but by praying I know I’ve turned the situation over to God and have to trust His way is the best way.
Life is lived through the windshield, but God’s faithfulness is often understood through the rearview mirror.
When our prayers seem to go unanswered, the enemy loves to fill the silence with lies.
“God isn’t listening. You don’t matter. Why bother praying?”
The Bible never promises that God will give us everything we ask for. It promises that He hears us and answers according to His wisdom, will, love, and perfect timing.
Facts
Not one prayer is wasted.
Not one tear goes unnoticed.
Not one whispered plea falls to the ground unheard.
“Never mistake God’s silence for God’s absence. He may seem quiet, but He has never stopped listening, and He has never stopped working.”
Soul Search
Think of a prayer that seems to be unanswered. Have you considered that the answer might be ‘not yet’ rather than ‘no’? Ask God to renew your faith in His hearing and His timing.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. — 1 John 5:14
