Don’t always believe what you’re thinking…

Worry is misuse of the imagination.

— Unknown —

Yesterday, upon awakening, I found the committee in my head having a very intense meeting about worry.

One of the reasons I always spend time with God in the morning is so my day begins with a peaceful heart.

Coincidentally (not), my morning devotion for yesterday was about anxiety and worry.

After reading and studying scripture from the devotion, my mind was at peace and once again I had won the battle over the committee in my head.

I’m thankful to have a higher power I can turn to when my mind is racing off the tracks. Granted, He doesn’t come to me, I must reach out to Him and that takes humility. Once I reach out to Him I hand my worries over to Him and allow Him to keep them and that takes trust.

How do you turn worry into peace?

  1. Believe in a power greater than you.
  2. Humbly hand your worries to that power.
  3. Trust he will take care of them…don’t take them back

1 Peter 5:6-7, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all you anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.
