OK, at this point in time you have at least one page in your journal dedicated to your 2015 HabitFast and so far you’ve written down whom you aspire to be, the habit you are starving, or starting, and what your life will look like in 5 years because of this change in habit(s).
The next step in this process is for you to list a new action that will replace the habit you are starving.
For example, let’s say you’ve decided you are giving up mindless surfing on the internet and/or watching the news channels and you decide to replace the mindless surfing/watching with a 1 hour walk and/or an hour of reading a self-improvement book.
Or let’s say you’ve decided to give up your candy habit and you decide to replace the need to fill your sugar-craving with fruit instead.
Maybe you’ve decided to quit having negative thoughts about other people, places and things or maybe there is an old grudge you need to starve. Try replacing these negative thoughts with a prayer for the person or life event you are having the thoughts about.
One of the most effective habits I’ve developed over the years is turning any and all negative impulses that are trying to get me to cave into an old habit over to God and ask for Him to keep them. God wants us to succeed!
Whatever the replacement habit is, write it down under the title: “Replacement Habit” in your 2015 HabitFast journal section.
Your HabitFast journal page should now look something like this:
1. I aspire to be at peace in all situations.
2.  In order to be at peace in all situations I will starve ALL negative and unproductive thoughts about myself and others.
3. By starving my negative thoughts I will have a calmer, more focused life in 5 years and all of my relationships will be stronger because people will want to be around me but more importantly God will make better use of me.
4. My replacement habit(s) is/are: Prayer for the people, places and things I am having negative thoughts about, while seeking God’s help in replacing all negative thoughts with productive thoughts.
More to follow tomorrow.
