As my business partner often reminded me, “great things come to those who wait.”
Amazing how many great things have happened in my life when I’ve overcome the urge to obtain short term fixes (mostly devil-inspired) and decided to wait and instead seek out God and His direction for long term “greats” and often eternal blessings.
Having a God-inspired plan for your life with a focus on achieving the plan is the best way to overcome the urges to waste time and money on today’s “urgencies,” which normally have nothing to do with your long term plan.
Picture where you want your life to go. Pray for God’s guidance in developing a plan for your life. Plan your life accordingly and practice patience and discipline in order to overcome the urge of trading what you want most for what you want right now.
