Daily focalPOINT – Take a look at yourself…

“The day I stop sinning is the day I have the right to judge and help others to stop sinning…and this will happen when hell freezes over.”

“Sin is not the metric we use to measure others’ lives but instead the metric we use to measure our own lives.”

“The less my focus on recognizing and fixing other’s sins; the more I can focus on and fix my own.”

“If you find yourself having to constantly tell others how great you are then you probably aren’t that great.”

These thoughts came to mind during my devotion time yesterday morning after reading and meditating on the follow scripture:

Luke 18:14, “For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves, exalted.”

Romans 12:12-13, “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.  Practice hospitality.  Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.  Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.  Live in harmony with one another.  Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.  Do not think you are superior.”

…my conclusion at the end of this devotion…it is not up to me to judge but instead it is up to me to live right and try to be an attraction for others to want to live right and when they ask me how I do it I can tell them it is not me, but it is Christ who lives through me.

…I’ve still got tons of work to do…:)

1 John 1:8, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”

Matthew 28:19, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end.”
