“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” ~Zig Ziglar
How many times have you left a motivational offering or read something that moved you and you immediately feel the blood flowing the brain cranking and you can hardly wait to get home and make things happen and then within a week or less the desire has left you and you are back in the same old routine that got you to where you are in life ? I obviously saw some worth in creating a run-on sentence to get my point across as I see this problem all the time.
It takes a loooooooooooooong time to change a behavior (a year or two) and a motivational speech or a motivational book will not do it. They only serve as “provokers” of new thought and new thought allows us to create new behavior but if the thought is not sustained the behavior never gets started.
Motivation must come from within and the best way to sustain motivation is to have a dream with goals in writing with a plan attached to the goals and daily activity connected to the plan.
I utilize “Automobile University” (listen to audiobooks whenever I am in my car) to keep the motivational/creative juices rolling and I stay away from negative influences that detract me from my dream (T.V., internet, negative people) and I fuel myself with the “God-Factor” early and often every day.
What are you doing to “bath” yourself with motivation daily?
