“Sad is the life spent running away from problems and eventually figuring out the problem within the problems is yourself.” ~JJM
I figured this out many years ago while sitting alone one evening in a chemical dependency center when I was at the end of my “run” at rock bottom in my life. It was in that moment I made a vow to no longer blame my problems on other people, places and things and began to take responsibility for my responsibilities.
In our “instant society” it seems as though people are always on the run these day. People quit jobs, teams, marriages, friendships as if everything is disposable. We drink, eat, shop, buy, sleep around and do other various addictions in order to run from our problems and none of this works because our “problems” are us.
Although I can get into the rat race just as easy as anyone, I try my best to always know what I am running towards (my goals) and Who I am running for (God).
Do you find yourself “running”these days? Take some time to reflect and inventory whether you are running from your problems because if you are, the “problem” is you.

Philippians 3:13-14, “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
