When God seems far away, guess who moved?
Last night at our Next Step Recovery Celebration we heard a testimony from a young lady who had a very rough life, some of her  challenges were self inflicted but it was not her choice to experience some of the things that took place in her childhood.
I was once again in awe of the transformation that took place in her life…we hear this type of story at The Next Step every week.
While listening to this story I thought about the quote above. Â No matter what was going on in her life, God was always there…ready, willing and able…if called upon. Â The more she called upon God, the better things got. Â When she went back to her old ways and left God out of the equation…”crap” started happening again.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, “faith is a commitment and there is no such thing as faith in between.”
God will heal us of our inequities if we asked Him and follow Him but he is a God of commitment and not a God of convenience.
A great way to stay committed to God is to hang out with others who are committed…the topic my pastor preached on after the story above. Â He also touched on the importance of serving and helping others.
God wants to transform our lives but we are the ones who need to do the work.
Are you ready to make a commitment? Â Don’t do it unless you are ready to do what it takes to stay close to Him.
