EDGE

However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do if you do not act upon them?

— Buddha —

I’ve always loved the word edge as it has represented a way of living for me.

I’m not talking about living on the edge…I did that several years ago and but for the grace of God, I am still breathing air.

The edge I am talking about involves doing things that gives you an advantage in life.  Things like eating right, taking your vitamins and getting rest and exercise.  Choosing to put only good things in your mind.  Hanging out with winners etc…

But the biggest edge-giver for me is the utilization of the free power given to me because of my faith in Jesus Christ.

Having Christ allows me to “travel light” these days.  It is through the power of the Holy Spirit  that I am able to accept the unacceptable, forgive the unforgivable, care for the uncaring, work when I’m tired, succeed when the odds are against me…hopefully you get the drift.

I observe lots of people “traveling heavy” these days because of their unwillingness to give in to the ultimate edge-giver; God.

Drawing from the power of God to do things I know I need to do but struggle to do them in my flesh, is what gives me my biggest edge in life and makes my road, regardless of the challenges, a bit easier to navigate.

Do you have an edge or do you feel like you are always up against a wall?

Begin asking God for help in everything you do.  You will gain an edge and lessen your load…I write from experience.

2 Timothy 3:5, “…having a form of godliness but denying its power.”  (Paul is talking about people portraying “godliness” but their actions indicate they have not tapped into the power of God.)
