Daily focalPOINT – Character and Image

“You build trust with others each time you choose integrity over image, truth over convenience, or honor over personal gain.”  ~John Maxwell

Do any of these “character conflicts” strike a chord with you?  Our society as a whole has a major problem with all three of these and it is easy to be drawn into thinking these things are important.

At the end of the day there is nothing more important than your personal character and compromising on it is a simple way to lead a wayward life with a life built upon sand instead of rock…I learned all of this the hard way over 25 years ago.

There are many definitions of what a strong character entails but mine is “having the ability to face the realities of life without compromising on your values and beliefs.”

How is your character these days?

Is it getting in the way of your image?

Is it an inconvenience?

Is it causing you to not have the personal gain you want?

Proverbs 10:9; “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.”

Over the next couple of months I will be using a John Maxwell quote and expounding my experience on it.  John Maxwell is one of my “book mentors” as I’ve read most of his books on leadership and how to do it Christ’s way (my interpretation).
