Crushing Fear – Day 43 – Complaining

It takes a lot more energy to complain and consume than it does to contribute.

DSC_6138I believe there are three types of people in the world: complainers, consumers and contributors.

When asked to do something, the complainer’s response is “why?” the consumer’s response is “what do I get out of the deal?”, and the contributor’s response is “I’m all over it.”

Complaining and consuming are two more fear-based actions generated from a focus on self.

God loves to work with contributors, as he set the world up to work through those of us willing to contribute.

Where do you spend most of your time today, complaining, consuming or contributing?

Try contributing your time, talents and treasures on a daily basis and you will be blown away at how much simpler and enjoyable life becomes.

Acts 20:35 (NIV), “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said:  ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.'”

Reflection:

What beliefs, thoughts and actions cause you to complain and consume?

Additional Scripture to read and reflect upon:  Philippians 2:14, Ephesians 4:29, 1 Thessalonians 5:18
